Indulging a Sweet Tooth

On Sunday the 27th of May I had my sweet tooth hit me pretty strong yet again! I had nothing in the house that had chocolate that I could make. I decided to make a cake from scratch. I made my famous yellow cake and then some cream cheese frosting! It was getting pretty late by the time the cake had cooled enough to frost but I still wanted to have a slice of cake. I went to grab my camera to take a picture when I turned around and found this...

My sweet little boy indulging himself to mommy's cake.

It was delicious!

A Little Family Vacation

I coached Track and Field again this year. I will you what there were days I thought I was crazy for doing so being pregnant and dealing with teenagers again. I didn't care much for teenagers when I was one and here I was putting myself in their path. Thankfully some of the kids made it worthwhile. One of my throwers made it to State in the discus. I was so proud of her (Madison Stillwell) as it was her senior year and she deserved to make it with all of her hard work.

My family went with me down to the Tacoma area. It was a nice little vacation! On the day that Madi was throwing we had some time to just hang out so we found a place to chill and let Benjamin play. He lined up cars, ran along the high school and cuddled with his Mommy!

Someone's Hungry

Who doesn't love pancakes? They are a great Saturday morning treat! I don't make them every Saturday but when we have time I do and Benjamin loves it. On Saturday May 19th I made pancakes and set the table up. Benjamin climb straight up to the table and made it known he was ready to go.

Never Too Old

While nearing the end of my pregnancy I am having a hard time getting comfortable and working. When downstairs Benjamin likes to jump all over me and run upstairs. I decided to work upstairs but I couldn't keep my laptop on my lap very well. So I decided to start using the spare bedroom with a desk in it as my new office space. Benjamin loved it as he is not allowed in the room very often. I had to clean it up a little bit but it didn't take much.

I had the extra monitor set-up and when Benjamin was a little restless I was able to play Mickey Mouse Club House for him and keep working.

On May 18th he decided climbing into the bassinet would be so much fun. I had to grab the camera. This isn't the first time he's crawled into it but he just laid and played in it for so long I had to capture it again.

Later that day I went downstairs to get bags out of the closet to pack for going to State for Track & Field at the end of the week. Benjamin followed me and climbed right in and started playing with the old bouncy chair. It's funny to me how much he loves to play with his old toys. I can tell when Elizabeth gets here he will be playing with her toys and items more than her most likely.

A Day at Home

On Wednesday's I work from home. On May 16th I kept the camera nearby to capture a few moments with Benjamin throughout the day.

Benjamin loves to lay between our legs for some reason. If your on the bed he will climb between them and if you are laying on the floor on your stomach he will still climb between your legs. Though yesterday Jared was laying on the floor reading on his stomach but his feet were going into the window sill. So Benjamin climbed the back of Jared's legs and into the window. It was pretty funny.

Bath time! If Benjamin doesn't get his bath before Jared leaves for school then it's pretty unlikely that Benjamin will get a bath at all.

And of course the day cannot be complete without some cars being lined up around the house. Typically Benjamin lines them up right next to each other but the other day Daddy showed him how you could line them up right behind each other.
Probably a week ago or so we were hanging out downstairs and Jared went upstairs to get something...maybe a diaper...when he came back downstairs he tells me, "Our house is infested!" I started to feel a little uneasy and asked, "With what?" "CARS!!!" He said he went upstairs and rounded the corner and hit a lineup of cars and they all scattered like things do when you come upon mice or cockroaches quickly. Thankfully it was just a description and not a real infestation.

Crashed on the Floor

So two weeks ago Monday I was working from home as part of my normal schedule currently. In the afternoon I was on a conference call training my backup for maternity leave. Benjamin had left the room I was using as my office for the past week (his future bedroom) and had gotten too quiet. I stepped away briefly to see what he was doing. I found him lying on the floor looking at his toys. I figured he was due to fall asleep soon.

I was right! I went back to my call and finished up and about 20 minutes later I came back out and found him sound asleep. I couldn't help but take pictures of course!

Benjamin fights us on taking naps so we've stopped trying to put him down. Some days he takes naps and some days he doesn't. We are finding him more and more around the house crashed out like this. He will fall asleep in the car easily and take a short nap and be pretty good for the rest of the day. On the days he gets a short nap or no nap he goes to bed early like 7:30pm. On the days that he gets a good nap...like on Sunday I napped with him for two hours, he goes to bed really late...11pm. Sometimes he will also wake up in the middle of the night ready to play for a few hours. Or get out of bed at 4:45am like this morning. Oh well I rather not fight him to take a nap and just role with it. I did get a lot of work done this morning before I normally would have.

Playin' at Grandma's

For Mother's Day this year my husband's dad decided a work party to plant flowers and weed the flower beds would be a great gift for his wife. Afterwards we would all hang out and enjoy food together. Not a bad plan because as an added bonus I got to stay home for Mother's Day.

I sat down by the side of the yard and weeded a little section while Jared, his dad and brother Brian worked in the main bed. Benjamin had fun running around. Once I weeded my little section I felt I had done enough...I was after all 35 weeks pregnant. Also Benjamin had started climbing down the steep hillside into the yard and I wasn't comfortable with it nor did I have the energy to keep chasing him. So we went inside and got some juice and had a snack.
I let Benjamin run around for a bit outside again because let's face it the weather was nice and he loves to be outdoors. But after awhile I was exhausted and Jared was busy doing the yard work so we retreated back inside shortly after his cousin's Connor and Corey showed up.

Connor and Corey had some fun with water balloons that Grandma had made up.
