Someone's walking on the ceiling

I cannot decide which pictures to choose of my nieces from August when they came to visit. They are just absolutely adorable. This is just to give a snapshot so I'll try my best to keep it short.
Leslie came over in August while Ed went to Special Services training. It was great to spend time with them and enjoy their company. This was our last visit with them before they went back to Germany. We were out at Leslie's parent's, Rick and Kay's house. We ate a lot of food had this amazing cookie salad (I know what I want to eat now), enjoyed playing with the kids, watched home video's of Jeffrey and some that Ed made for Jeffrey before leaving for boot camp and while in Iraq. Tear jerkers for both mom and I. It was hard to leave when the day was over.
How can you not look at this picture and think "Beautiful Angel"?!

Someone looks like she is up to something mischievous.

Talia and Coral kissing and making up.
Here is Coral attacking Leslie and Jared in the background laughing at something. Here is mom, Leslie and myself. Here is Jared doing knuckles with Coral. Here is Jeffrey walking on the ceiling.

Granny Teaching Her Granddaughter to Sew

My mom was here during the month of August for my sister Cathy's birthday. I got to spend some time with her as well. She fell in love with Olga her "granddaughter". Since school hadn't started yet and Olga is pretty much game for anything my mom took her to a sewing group with my Aunt Caren. Olga came home with an almost completed quilt.
It was funny I would come out and watch Olga rip things apart when it wasn't perfect.
I got out my cloak my mom and I made when I was 17 maybe 16 to show Olga. We had fun playing dress up. I love my cloak!

The Lutz Family August 14th

So many pictures and so little time...I still have several pictures stuck on my camera because I can't find my card reader and as I am writing this I just remembered I can use my printer as a card reader!!!!

Heather and Brooks were still here I believe over the summer. The below pictures are from August 14th. We got together to have some family time and enjoy each other's company before Heather and Brooks left for Pullman.

Here is Olga with Brooks Jr.
Corey was out on the back deck wanting to play in his pool but it was kind of dirty.
He would step in it anyway and then walk around and leave little footprints.
I love this picture of Corey. I can't decide if he is saying "stop with the pictures" or "what do you think you are doing."
Connor was hard to get a good picture of that night. He was a bit distracted by people and playing with his Alphabet puzzle.
Finally one of me with my nephew Brooks Jr. I sometimes have to beg to get my photo taken. I can't remember if Jared took it or if Olga did.
Now here's the thing I started this blog to help with my journaling for my scrap booking. Not much help here huh. I can't remember most things. Just like scrap booking this takes time to get it done.

Serving My Country

I made breakfast this morning (eggs with salsa, plain eggs, bacon, juice, doughnuts) for my brother Ed and his family plus Mom and Rudy. We sat down and we were eating and Ed says to me "You know Em you are serving your country by feeding me right now!" I laughed and thought to myself that's funny. I'm glad I could serve my country in such a little way by feeding my brother.

imagine...a secret room

Remember when you were a kid and you would imagine wonderful possibilities like...being able to fly, finding buried treasure or being able to win once at a wrestling match with your brother? Do you still let yourself imagine things?

At work from time to time when I go to the bathroom there is a particular stall next to the wall that has large tiles on the wall. I sometimes imagine that if I figure out the right combination of pressing the tiles that a secret room will open and inside will be a plush room with a sofa, chandelier, Jacuzzi tub and a massage table. There are days where I wish it could come true! A massage and a bath sound divine.

Forgot I was on the phone

My brother is home!!!!! I love my brother Ed so much! He is an amazing guy. He works hard for his family and pushes himself to be the best he can be. He has high expectations and has a huge heart. No matter how sentimental I get he still smiles and hugs me.

I got to see him for a little bit on Wednesday. I took him our Jetta to borrow for while he is here. I walked in and saw him and just started to cry. For those who don't know he has been stationed in Germany for a few years now and is going to Afghanistan soon. I hugged him so tightly and was just crying tears of joy. I was on the phone with Jared which was abruptly interrupted when I saw Ed and he reminded me I was on the phone. Which of course made me laugh.

Below are some pictures of Ed and I. I cannot express how much I love my brother or how proud of him I am. I am grateful for his love and his service. He is amazing!!!
